tradingview plans
TradingView has one free plan (Basic) and four paid ones: Essential, Plus, Premium and Ultimate, at $12.95, $29.95, $59.95 and $199.95 a month when billed annually; monthly billing costs more. Higher tiers raise the number of charts per tab, indicators per chart, alerts and historical bars, and remove ads. Crypto prices are real-time on every plan, including the free one.
Our read
For crypto charting TradingView is the tool everyone else copies, and the free plan is enough for anyone who watches a few pairs. Most crypto traders who pay end up on Plus or Premium for the alert and indicator limits, not for data, since crypto feeds are real-time for free. Watch for impersonators: "free Premium" and "cracked TradingView" downloads were used to plant wallet-draining malware in 2025.

TradingView plans and pricing, compared
TradingView sells five tiers for individuals. Prices below are per month on annual billing, from its pricing page on 27 September 2026. Paying month to month costs more; the page lists the annual saving as $24 a year on Essential, $60 on Plus, $120 on Premium and $480 on Ultimate. A year of Premium costs $719.40 up front on the annual plan.
| Basic | Essential | Plus | Premium | Ultimate | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price / month (annual) | Free | $12.95 | $29.95 | $59.95 | $199.95 |
| Charts per tab | 1 | 2 | 4 | 8 | 16 |
| Indicators per chart | 2 | 5 | 10 | 25 | 50 |
| Price alerts | 3 | 20 | 100 | 400 | 1,000 |
| Technical alerts | none | 20 | 100 | 400 | 1,000 |
| Historical bars | 5K | 10K | 10K | 20K | 40K |
| Ads | Yes | No | No | No | No |
| Free trial | n/a | 30 days | 30 days | 30 days | 14 days |
For crypto the limits that bite are alerts and indicators. A trader watching ten pairs with a price alert and an RSI or moving-average alert on each needs 20 alerts, which is the Essential ceiling. Anyone running several strategies at once, or stacking more than five indicators, lands on Plus. Premium's main extras for crypto users are 400 alerts, 20,000 bars of history for backtests on lower timeframes, and eight charts per layout for watching several exchanges at once.
Ultimate is aimed at professional multi-market users and is hard to justify for crypto alone. TradingView also sells paid real-time data add-ons for stock and futures exchanges. None of that is needed for crypto, because crypto exchange feeds cost nothing.
Refunds are available only on annual plans, and only if you ask within 14 calendar days of payment. Monthly plans and upgrades are not refunded, so a month-to-month plan is the safer way to test beyond the free trial.
Is TradingView free? What the Basic plan gets you
Yes. The Basic plan costs nothing and needs only an account. It gives one chart per tab, two indicators on that chart, three price alerts, 5,000 historical bars, and ads. It does not include technical (indicator-based) alerts.
For crypto the free plan is better than it sounds, because crypto market data is real-time on every tier. TradingView's data-coverage page lists real-time crypto data at $0 for both non-professional and professional users. Stock users on Basic see delayed quotes from many exchanges unless they buy a data add-on; crypto users do not have that problem.
What pushes crypto users to pay is the two-indicator cap (volume plus one moving average already uses it), and the missing technical alerts. Three price alerts cover a long-term holder watching Bitcoin, Ether and one other coin for a big move. They do not cover anyone who trades. The 30-day trial on the first three paid tiers is enough to find out which limit you actually hit. Because refunds only apply to annual plans bought in the last 14 days, start the trial, and do not prepay a year until the trial has shown which tier you need.
"TradingView Premium free" offers are not a TradingView promotion. Cracked installers and fake free-Premium apps have been used to spread wallet-stealing malware; see the safety section.
What is TradingView, and is it a broker?
TradingView is a browser, desktop and mobile charting platform with a social layer. Traders publish chart ideas and scripts, and anyone can write indicators and strategies in its own language, Pine Script. The company says 100 million-plus people use it. It began in 2011, went through the Techstars accelerator in 2013, raised $37 million in 2018 led by Insight Venture Partners and $298 million in 2021 at a $3 billion valuation. It is headquartered in New York, with a European base in London, and has been led since 2024 by CEO Oleg Mukhanov.
It is not a broker. TradingView does not hold customer money or execute trades itself. It connects to brokers and exchanges, and when you trade from a chart the order goes to your account at that venue. Its broker directory currently lists these crypto venues among its integrations:
The TradingView-style chart you see on an exchange's own trading screen is often a separate thing. TradingView publishes charting libraries for other sites, including the open-source Lightweight Charts (over 17,000 GitHub stars), so its charts appear inside platforms with no account link to TradingView.com at all.
Where TradingView's crypto data comes from, and why prices differ
Every crypto symbol on TradingView belongs to a specific source. BINANCE:BTCUSDT is Binance's order book priced in Tether, and COINBASE:BTCUSD is Coinbase's priced in dollars. That is why the same coin shows slightly different prices, volumes and wicks depending on which symbol you open. It is also why a liquidation wick on one exchange can be missing on another exchange's chart.
| Data type | Sources listed by TradingView |
|---|---|
| Spot, swaps and futures | 70+ crypto exchanges and providers, including Binance, Kraken, Coinbase, OKX and Bybit, plus DEX data on Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum and Polygon |
| Indices | CoinDesk, Brave New Coin, Volmex |
| Fundamental and on-chain | Coin Metrics, DefiLlama, Glassnode, LunarCrush |
All of it is attributed by name on the data-coverage page, which is better than most charting tools manage. For a question like "what did Bitcoin trade at, at that minute", pick the exchange you actually trade on, or an index symbol that blends several venues, rather than whatever symbol the search box offers first. The on-chain part is thin, though: you can chart a metric someone else has computed, but you cannot query raw blockchain data the way you can on Dune.
"Why is my TradingView delayed?" For crypto, usually it is not. Real-time crypto feeds are free. Delays apply to many stock and futures exchanges, where the exchange charges for real-time data. If a crypto chart looks stuck, the usual causes are a thinly traded pair or a source exchange's API outage.
Is TradingView legit and safe for crypto traders?
TradingView is a real, venture-backed company, and we found no report of a breach of its own systems or of user funds lost through it. It holds no crypto for you, and broker links route orders to your exchange account rather than holding funds. Two-factor authentication is available and worth switching on, since a hijacked account with a live exchange connection can place trades on it.
The real risk is people borrowing the brand. The campaigns reported in 2025:
| When | What | Payload |
|---|---|---|
| March 2025 | Links to "TradingView Premium cracked" installers posted on crypto subreddits, with fake support replies from the posters | Lumma Stealer on Windows, Atomic Stealer (AMOS) on Mac, which took passwords, 2FA data and wallet credentials |
| July 2025 | Paid Meta ads promising a free Premium app for Android, later spreading to YouTube through hijacked channels | Brokewell Android malware with data theft and remote access |
TradingView's own security page states it never asks for passwords or 2FA codes by email or message, and never offers personal trading help or account management. Anyone contacting you as a "TradingView trading assistant" is running a scam. Download apps only from tradingview.com or the official app stores; there is no legitimate free Premium.
