An aggregator rather than a venue, and on Solana that distinction is worth real money: routing across fragmented pools consistently beats going direct. Execution quality is excellent and the cost is shown before you sign, but it is not free by default: Ultra mode takes 0–0.5% per swap and only Manual mode takes nothing. You are also trusting a routing layer as well as the pools underneath it.
Best for: Solana routing, where aggregation genuinely beats any single venue
8.2 is the weighted average of the five pillar findings below. Does the job well with no material unresolved concerns.
Non-custodial; funds are never held by the router. Audited, but the aggregation layer is an additional contract surface between you and the pool.
The default Ultra mode charges 0–0.5% depending on pair and volatility; Manual mode charges 0%, and limit and DCA orders add a 0.03–0.1% base fee. All of it is on the published fee page and in the quote before signing. Third-party apps built on Jupiter can add their own fee on top.
Unlicensed. The interface is run by Block Raccoon S.A. under Panamanian law and excludes US wallets; the contracts do not discriminate.
Routing consistently improves realised price against going direct on fragmented Solana liquidity. Degrades when the underlying chain congests, which it does.
Fast, genuinely well-designed interface with clear pre-trade cost display — the best UX of anything in this table.
Strengths
Against it
Solana liquidity is fragmented across many pools, and routing across them consistently beats going direct. Jupiter shows the expected cost before you sign, but the default is not free: Ultra mode takes 0–0.50% per swap depending on pair and volatility, and only Manual mode, where you set slippage and priority fees yourself, takes nothing.
The catch is structural rather than commercial: you are trusting a routing contract in addition to the pools underneath it, and when Solana congests, execution degrades with it. Neither is a flaw in the product so much as the shape of the bet you are taking.
Yes, in the default Ultra mode: 0–0.50% per swap, lower on stable pairs and higher on new or volatile tokens. Manual mode charges 0%, and limit and DCA orders carry a 0.03–0.10% base fee. On top come price impact in the underlying pools and Solana network fees, all shown before you confirm. Apps built on Jupiter can add their own fee.
Slightly, in the sense that it adds a contract between you and the pool. What you get back is measurably better realised pricing on fragmented liquidity. On Solana that trade is usually worth taking; the lower custody score than Uniswap’s is what the extra contract surface costs.
Transactions fail or land late, and execution quality falls with them. Jupiter inherits the chain’s condition entirely — it cannot route around a congested network. This is the main reason its performance score is not higher.
